CORNWALL, Ontario – The third edition of a casual, yet chic patio party raised upwards of $45,800 for the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation on Saturday night.

Over 300 people attended BDO Canada and the CCH Foundation’s sold-out Denim & Diamonds fundraising event at the Nav Centre to help bring a chemotherapy program to the local hospital.

CCH Foundation Executive Director Erin Killoran boasted that the Seaway City could have it up and running by the end of 2015.

“The proceeds always go towards the highest priority need at the hospital, and right now we’re working on chemotherapy,” said Killoran. “It’s coming soon.”

This year’s outdoor event featured specialty barbecue stations, a silent auction, signature drinks, and live music.

Pommier Jewellers donated a $1,000 ring that was raffled off at the event.

“A good hospital makes a great community,” said store owner and sponsor Andre Pommier. “We’re here helping out a worthy cause but everyone is having so much fun.”

His downtown establishment will be holding a silent auction on another handmade ring (one-carat diamond) with all proceeds going to the CCH Foundation, along with matched funding.
