CORNWALL, Ontario – The rock stars performing in Cornwall this evening are more familiar than you think.
Downtown Cornwall business owners are opening their doors tonight for the annual Rock the Block. The event offers businesses a chance to strut their stuff and celebrate local commerce.
Participating businesses will be joining forces to showcase their newest collections and current trends.
Chris Munro, owner of Life’s Little Pleasures on Pitt Street and one of the organizers of the event, said every business is contributing as they see fit.
“We just want to keep rocking the block,” she said.
Louise Gendron, owner of Studio 101, said downtown businesses are investing in each other by pointing clients to other operations in the heart of Cornwall so that commerce remains in that part of the city.
“Downtown people pulled together and we want to celebrate each other,” she said. “We are all responsible for our successes.”
