CORNWALL, Ontario – The province of Ontario has released their annual Sunshine List, which is a list of public sector employees who are paid by the province of Ontario and have an annual salary of over $100,000.

Of all the employees on the list, Eastern Ontario Health (EOHU) Unit Medical Officer of Health Dr. Paul Roumeliotis topped the list with an annual salary of $411.934.07, an increase of over 14 per cent from the previous year.

In fact the EOHU had over 30 employees who earned more than $100,000 on this year’s Sunshine List.

Other top earners in the City of Cornwall included Jeanette Despatie, CEO and President of the Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) who earned $314,791.00.

City of Cornwall Chief Administration Officer Maureen Adams came in third on the list with a salary of $230,415.14, a 1.72 per cent decrease from the year before.

Former Cornwall Police Service (CPS) Chief Danny Aikman was also on the list in fourth with a salary of $214,704.38. Aikman retired at the end of 2021.

In total, there were over 300 individuals who were employed by the City of Cornwall, the CCH, the CPS, and The Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph’s Cornwall (St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre).

In each of the six townships that comprise SDG the CAOs of the respective townships each were on the list earning between $121,000 and $143,000. The Township of South Dundas in an statement earlier this week noted that the numbers stated on the Sunshine List for their employees was inaccurate and that they would be correcting the record later this week.
