Drug Bust Deja Vu: Suspected dealers arrested

CORNWALL, Ontario – Two people who were busted in April for pushing drugs are back behind bars.

On Wednesday, August 20, the Cornwall Emergency Response Team (CERT) assisted the Cornwall Street Crime Unit execute a drug warrant at a Carleton Street address.

Two 15-year-old youths along with Samantha Butcher, 39 and Sandy MacFarlane, 52, all of Cornwall were arrested.

Their charges include possession of cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, property obtained by crime, possession of oxycodone, possession for the purpose of trafficking oxycodone, and possession of marijuana.

A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was also arrested and charged with breaching her probation order for being out without parent or guardian, having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace.

The three youths were released to appear in court at a later date.

Butcher was also charged with breaching an undertaking for failing to keep the peace and MacFarlane was charged with breaching a recognizance for being in possession of drugs.

They were both held for a bail hearing.

On April 9, Butcher and MacFarlane were arrested during a major drug bust at a Carleton Street address.

CERT and the Unit found $4,992 worth of marijuana, cash, cocaine, and oxycodone.
