Finch resident wins Instant Cash for Life Lottery
Kaity MacMillan opted for a $675

FINCH, Ontario – Finch resident Kaitlyn (Kaity) MacMillan is the latest winner of $1,000 a week for life with INSTANT CASH FOR LIFE. MacMillan opted for a lump-sum payment of $675,000 rather than the $1,000 per week for life prize option.

“The last 24 hours have been a whirlwind,” said MacMillan while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where she picked up her winnings. “I stopped for gas on my way to work and on a whim I bought a ticket. It’s the only INSTANT ticket I ever buy.”

MacMillan arrived at work early so she decided to scratch her ticket.

“As soon as I realized I won, I stopped scratching and started calling,” she said. “First I phoned my boyfriend. Next I called my mom. I said to her, ‘Mom, I won CASH FOR LIFE!’ Her response was, ‘No you didn’t.’ So I sent her a picture of the ticket and there was lots of laughing and screaming at that point.”

After wrapping up her shift at work and speaking with OLG, MacMillan decided to fly to Toronto with her boyfriend and mom. “I treated them to a night at a fancy Toronto hotel before coming to the Prize Centre to pick up my cheque.”

Plans are already underway for MacMillan’s windfall.

“My parents have been so supportive, paying for my education and always being in my corner,” she said. “I want to do something special for them so next year, I will be sending them on vacation to Scotland and I will be taking care of everything. They are the best and this is the least I can do. My parents also have a plot of land right next door to our family home. I am building my dream house with my boyfriend and his young daughter. I also plan to pay off my car and some student debt.”

“Winning the lottery is mind blowing,” MacMillan concluded. “I have close friends who are financially savvy and will help me mange my winnings.”
