The first heavy snowfall to hit Cornwall and the United Counties has lead to tough roac conditions and bus cancellations (Nick Seebruch/ Seaway News).

CORNWALL, Ontario – Early Monday morning Environment Canada issued a Severe Weather Warning for the Cornwall-Morrisburg area.

An area covering Morrisburg to Lancaster and Cornwall to Alexandria is forecasted to expect 15-25 centimeters of snow.

Additionally, blowing winds of  60 kilometers an hour has made for dangerous road conditions in some areas.

The road conditions lead the Upper Canada District School Board and the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario to cancel buses Monday morning.

The South Glengarry Fire Department announced that they had responded to five accidents throughout the night, but that no injuries had been reported so far.
