CORNWALL, Ontario – A teenaged girl was shot in the eye with an Airsoft gun by a friend more than a year ago.
The friend is now facing police charges.
The young woman, 16, was picked up by police on Monday. It’s alleged she pointed the Airsoft rifle at a friend and fired it resulting in an eye injury on Nov. 7, 2013.
Airsoft guns are replica firearms, or a special type of air guns that fire spherical projectiles not unlike a pellet gun. A piston, or compressed air, are used to fire the projectile.
The 16-year-old was charged with pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm and unlawfully causing bodily harm.
She was released to attend court at a later date. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
