GUNS AND DRUGS: Major bust by OPP in South Stormont worth $895,000

CORNWALL, Ontario – An indoor drug grow-op, which housed a huge cache of weapons, was taken down by the OPP last week.

Police, with the help of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) and canine unit, executed a warrant at a South Stormont home.

Officers seized 60 pounds of Psilocybin (Magic) Mushrooms, 804 marijuana plants and one pound of marijuana (end product).

The estimated street value of drugs seized at maturity is approximately $895,000.

Officers also seized 11 handguns, 43 long guns and ammunition.

Three persons were arrested.

A 39-year-old female of North Stormont Township is charged with:

– Produce a Controlled Substance (2 counts)

– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking (2 counts)

– Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm/Ammunition (9 counts)

– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (2 counts)

– Breach of Firearm Regulation – Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon

– Careless Use of a Firearm

– Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

A 40-year-old male from Brussels, Ont. is charged with:

– Produce a Controlled Substance (2 counts)

– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking (2 counts)

– Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm/Ammunition (9 counts)

– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (2 counts)

– Breach of Firearm Regulation – Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon

– Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (2 counts)

– Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

A 26-year-old male from London, Ont. is charged with:

– Produce a Controlled Substance (2 counts)

– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

All were held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice of Ontario in Cornwall.
