(SOUTH GLENAGARRY, ON) – Members of the Stormont Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) assisted by the EDU (Explosives Disposal Unit) are currently investigating a potential explosive device and loaded firearm.
- On April 11, 2023, shortly after 6:30 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for excessive speed eastbound on Hwy 401 in the south Glengarry township. During the investigation officers observed a handgun and potential explosive device.
- As a precautionary measure, highway 401 eastbound lanes are closed between mile marker 796 and exit 804 county rd. 27.
- One person is currently in police custody.
The highway should be re-opening shortly.
