SOUTH STORMONT, Ontario – Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to the scene of a two (2) vehicle fatal collision on Highway 401 (east of the Moulinette Road exit, Long Sault), South Stormont Township.

The investigation has indicated that at approximately 7:00am, a Ford Focus travelling west on Highway 401 collided with an also westbound GMC Savanna van causing the van to rollover and the car to enter the median.

The adult female driver of the van, Kristine Cadieux (32) of Cornwall, Ontario was pronounced deceased at the scene while a male (50) passenger of Cornwall, Ontario was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The adult male driver (20) of St. Hubert, Quebec (lone occupant) of the car sustained minor injuries.

A section of Highway 401 was closed to traffic, but has since been re-opened. 

The SD&G OPP officers and OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) and an OPP Reconstructionist are assisting in the investigation.
