CORNWALL, Ontario – Enjoy equal parts education and delicious entertainment with the local food action group’s film series at the Cornwall Public Library this Sunday afternoon.

The free screening of Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story runs from 1:00-3:30 p.m. with offerings of tasty soup and good conversation.

The 74-minute award-winning documentary‘s synopsis asks: “We all love food. As a society, we devour countless cooking shows, culinary magazines, and foodie blogs. So how could we possibly be throwing nearly 50 per cent of it in the trash?”

Just Eat It follows filmmakers and food lovers Jen and Grant as they dive into the issue of waste from farm, through retail, all the way to the back of their own fridge. Featuring interviews with TED lecturer, author, and activist Tristram Stuart and acclaimed author Jonathan Bloom.

The event is hosted by Transition Cornwall+ Food Action Group, in partnership with Agape Centre, Eastern Ontario Health Unit, All Things Food, and the library.
