CORNWALL, Ontario – Parents of young children in Cornwall looking to connect with like-minded people should be impressed with the Second Annual Kids Expo this year.
The Oct. 3 event will see a variety of local youth programs, sports and fitness groups, businesses, clubs, and various resources fill the salons of the civic complex.
With dozens of booths to choose from, patrons will be able to see model trains, slot racing, a Pokemon tournament, clay creations, face painting and interactive lights and lasers.
“It’s just a good chance to meet and network,” said co-organizer Ginny Pereira. “Cornwall is really good for sports, but the other aspects of being a kid should be discussed and there should be information available.
“We want to show what’s available in Cornwall for families.”
The event runs in conjunction with the Children’s Aid Society (CAS) of SDG purple ribbon campaign launch in Lamoureux Park.
The popular paper bag pop, which is meant to symbolize renewed focus on issues of child abuse, will take place in both the park, and the complex.
“The two events just seem to fit really well together,” said co-organizer Mai-Liis Renaud.
The Kids Expo is free and runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct, 3. Donations are being accepted for the Jump Start Program.
