CORNWALL, Ontario – The CCPS was on hand to support the students of La Citadelle’s Introduction to Social Sciences course as tried to raise awareness against distracted driving.

On Thursday, Nov. 10 the students setup a table in the main entrance of the school where Patriotes could stop by to learn about the dangers of distracted driving and sign the CCPS’s pledge to not drive while distracted.

The group of students, with support of their teacher Manon Piché, conducted a study and created a video warning of the dangers of distracted driving.

“They are at the age when they’re just starting to drive and it is a good time to start forming good habits,” said La Citadelle Principal Julie Charland. “If what they do helps to save even one life, then it will be worth it.”

The student’s event was a part of the CCPS’s Distracted Driving Challenge. During Crime prevention Week, CCPS is challenging the residents of Cornwall to sign the pledge and share it on social media to raise awareness on the dangers of distracted driving.
