Cornwall, Ontario – A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 16, 2016 and charged with assault, assault cause bodily harm, assault with a weapon, mischief and threats. It is alleged during an investigation on July 16, 2016 police received information that between 2015 and 2016 the man repeatedly pushed and threatened his girlfriend. It is also alleged he burnt her with a cigarette, cut her with a pair of scissors, struck her with a remote control, damaged property and pushed her causing her existing stitches to come undone. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
