CORNWALL, Ontario – Kerby Franklin, 28, of Cornwall, was arrested on Nov. 11, 2018 and charged with the following:

·       Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

·       Flight from police

·       Possession of property obtained by crime

·       Breach of probation (fail to keep the peace)

·       Possession of cocaine

·       Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine

On Nov. 11, 2018, members of the CCPS attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by a man who was wanted by another police agency.  The man fled from police, operating the vehicle in a dangerous manner in the area Pitt Street and Twelfth Street. A pursuit ensued, with the motor vehicle coming to a stop in the area of Twelfth Street and Ontario Street. The man was taken into custody on the strength of the outstanding warrant and during the course of the investigation found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine and money. The man was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Dec. 18, 2018.

PUBLIC NOTICE – ONGOING INVESTIGATION

On Nov. 11, 2018, the CCPS were called to investigate an incident which was alleged to have occurred in an area between Sixth Street/Seventh Street and Sydney Street/Adolphus Street.

At this time, the investigation is in its early stages and as such, we will provide further details when they become available. The CCPS would like to thank the public for their understanding as we continue to investigate the matter and ask that members of the community refrain from speculation in order to maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
