Man flees taxi without paying

CORNWALL, Ontario – Alexander Small, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on Feb. 8, 2018 on the strength of a warrant.

It is alleged on March 21, 2015 the man failed to pay for a taxi fair and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation a warrant was obtained for his arrest for transportation fraud. On Feb. 8, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 22-year-old Hogansburg, NY man was arrested on Feb. 8, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on Nov. 13, 2014 for drug charges and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Feb. 8, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the charges stem from when the man was a youth and his identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

THEFT UNDER, BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – Marc Racine, 42, of St. Andrews was arrested on Feb. 8, 2018 and charged with theft under and breach of recognizance for failing to remain in his residence when not accompanied by his surety. It is alleged on Feb. 8, 2018 the man attended a Second Street East store removed property making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The man was contacted by police and attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody and it was learned he was a suspect for other thefts within the city. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
