Akwesasne police to search river for missing man

AKWESASNE – The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service (AMPS) have announced that they will be searching the local waterways for missing Akwesasne man on Thursday.

Kenneth Leaf, 50, was reported missing on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018.

“Leaf was last seen on the weekend of Jan. 13, 2018. With the recent thawing of frozen rivers, AMPS has organized a new search to take place tomorrow, Thursday, March 22, 2018, utilizing the services of professional divers from the Sûreté du Québec,” AMPS said in a statement. “The divers will be focusing on the Snye Channel area.”
