CORNWALL, Ontario – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on March 8, 2018 and charged with charged with take motor vehicle without consent, fail to stop at scene of accident, dangerous driving and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace.

It is alleged on March 8, 2018 the youth took someone’s vehicle without permission, drove it in a dangerous manner, struck another vehicle on Gloucester Street and fled the scene of the accident. Police were contacted and located the youth a short distance away. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 8th, 2018 and charged with assault, forcible confinement, threats, criminal harassment, robbery, theft under, and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace and failing to notify a change in address. It is alleged during arguments between November, 2017 and March 8, 2018 the man assaulted his common-law wife, threatened to damage her property, forcibly took her phone, prevented her from leaving the residence, took some of her property and harassed her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
