CORNWALL, Ontario – The Cornwall Community Police Service (CCPS) held their annual East End Station Open House on Montreal Rd. on Thursday, May 17, 2018.

“This is a great event to get our community partners out,” said CCPS Communications Officer Stephanie MacRae. “It gives people a taste of what we do.”

This year, the event took place in the mid-afternoon through to the evening, starting at 3 p.m. and going until 7 p.m.

MacRae said that the event was taking place later in the day this year to really encourage parents to come out to the East End station with their kids.

Community partners and the CCPS set up displays in the East End Station parking lot.

Community partners present this year included the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service CBSA, the CN Rail police, Crime Stoppers, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the OPP, the OSPCA and the RCMP.

Inside the East End Station was a display on the CCPS dispatch system, so that kids and parents could learn what it is like when the police receive a call for service.
