CORNWALL, Ontario – A water main broke on Water St. after 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
“A fairly major break has occurred at a 24 inch watermain at Augustus and Water Street,” said City of Cornwall Public Information Coordinator in a post on Facebook. “City staff are assessing and isolating the break, which may cause significant water outages along Water Street. Affected businesses and residents will be notified as soon as possible.”
Water St. is closed westbound from Sydney St. to York St. Re-opening time is unknown.
