Long Sault man allegedly steals from one store, damages another

CORNWALL, Ontario – Patrick Poirier, 40, of Long Sault was arrested on June 9, 2018 and charged with theft under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.

It is alleged on June 8, 2018 the man attended a Ninth Street business and selected items, making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He also allegedly attended a Brookdale Avenue business and damaged numerous items in the store. On June 9, 2018 police located the man during a traffic stop. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 17, 2018.

IMPAIRED OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, OVER 80

CORNWALL, Ontario – Christina O’Connell, 39, of Cornwall was arrested on June 9, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on June 9, 2018 the woman was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol when she was stopped at the Port of Entry. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 19, 2018.

IMPAIRED OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, OVER 80

CORNWALL, Ontario – Jordan McCormack, 24, of Cornwall was arrested on June 10, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on June 10, 2018 the man was operating a motor vehicle in the area of Tenth Street and McConnell Avenue while under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 19, 2018.

ASSAULT, BREACHES, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 28-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, both of Cornwall, were arrested on June 10, 2018 and charged as follows:

28-year-old man:

  • Domestic assault
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Breach of recognizance (failing to reside at certain address, contacting his girlfriend, associating with someone who has a criminal record, and failing to keep the peace)
  • Breach of probation (failing to notify police of a change of address and failing to keep the peace)

31-year-old woman:

  • Breach of recognizance (failing to reside at a certain address, contacting her boyfriend, associating with someone who has a criminal record,  failing to notify police of a change of address, and failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

It is alleged on June 10, 2018 the man assaulted his girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During a traffic stop, police located the man and woman together, both in breach of their conditions and in possession of stolen merchandise. It is further alleged the man was in possession of a knife. During the investigation both were taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Their names were not released as it would identify the victim
