CORNWALL, Ontario – It’s time to bring out the Bingo cards as Tuesday, Sept. 11 marks the beginning of 10 months of Kinsmen TV Bingo.

Since 1933, the Kinsmen Club of Cornwall has served the needs of the community and fundraised for various local organizations.

TV Bingo will offer weekly and monthly prizes, ranging up to $2,000 dependent on the ticket purchased. The game will air at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday on Cogeco Channel 11 or 700.

With over 50 ticket vendors in the city, and tickets priced at $5 or $10, community members have the opportunity to give back to local services like Kinsmen initiatives, Beyond 21, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cornwall and District, the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation and more.

“One hundred per cent of the money goes back into this community,” said Tim Sage, Co-Chair of Kinsmen Bingo. “We serve our community’s’ greatest needs.”

According to Sage, who has been involved in Kinsmen Bingo for over 9 year, the event requires over 200 hours of volunteer work throughout the 10 months.

“It’s a big responsibility. It’s our largest fundraiser,” said Sage. “It’s a lot of work but it’s a benefit to the community.”

This year, Sage is hoping to have more members of the organizations involved to better represent who Kinsmen is fundraising for, and personalize the experience for viewers at home.

“We’re hoping to be more visual this year,” he said.
