CORNWALL, Ontario – A Cornwall man has been charged in connection to an alleged sexual assault dating back to the late 1990s.
According to the Cornwall Community Police Service (CCPS), between March 1997 and November 1998, the suspect sexually assaulted a 17-year-old.
The April 29th edition of the CCPS blotter said police were contacted and an investigation ensued – the date of the complaint wasn’t included.
City cops confirmed that the victim and the 56-year-old man were known to each other.
He was arrested at his residence on Monday (April 27). The man was then taken into custody, charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation, and released to appear in a Cornwall court on June 2.
Specifics of the case were not provided to protect the victim’s identity.
