Man accused of threatening, assaulting & stealing from his girlfriend

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 41-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 29, 2017 and charged with assault, threats, mischief and theft under $5, 000.

It is alleged during arguments on April 29, 2017 the man punched and pushed his girlfriend on several occasions, took money from her, damaged items within the apartment and threatened to harm her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 46-year-old St. Andrews man was arrested on April 30, 2017 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged during an argument on April 29th, 2017 the man used his truck to block the path of his sister-in-law who was trying to cross the street on foot. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 30, 2017 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 6, 2017. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, THREATS

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 35-year-old Williamstown man was arrested on April 27, 2017 and charged with assault and threats. It is alleged during an argument on April 27, 2017 the man punched his brother-in-law in the face and threatened to kill his family. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 6, 2017. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

MISCHIEF

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 27, 2017 and charged with mischief. It is alleged during an argument on April 26, 2017 the youth punched a hole in a wall and damaged a door at someone’s apartment. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 27, 2017 the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

WARRANT

CORNWALL, Ontario – Bryan Reynolds, 41, of Brockville was arrested on April 28, 2017 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on April 13, 2017 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 28th, 2017 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on May 25, 2017.

BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – Steven Doychak, 44, of Cornwall was arrested on April 28, 2017 and charged with breach of probation for being outside his residence after having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 28, 2017 police attended a local establishment for a disturbance call and found the man in breach of his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 8, 2017.

ASSAULT, BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 23-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 28, 2017 and charged with assault and breach of recognizance for not residing at a specific address and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument on April 28, 2017 the woman punched her boyfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation it was learned the woman was also in breach of her conditions. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 13, 2017. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

OVER 80

CORNWALL, Ontario – Charity Benedict, 29, of Akwesasne was arrested on April 29, 2017 and charged with over 80. It is alleged on April 29, 2017 the woman was operating a motor vehicle with her blood/alcohol level over 80 when she was stopped at the port of entry. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged her accordingly and released to appear in court on May 9, 2017.
