CORNWALL, Ontario – On Dec. 21, 2018, the Cornwall Police Service issued a “Request for Public Assistance” regarding a home invasion that occurred at a Notre Dame St. residence on Dec. 19, 2018. As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division, two people have been arrested in relation to this incident.
Christopher St. Andre, 50, of Cornwall, and Shelley St. Andre, 51, both of Cornwall, were arrested on Dec. 21, 2018 and charged as follows:
Christopher St. Andre:
· Public mischief
· Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
· Possession for the purpose of trafficking oxycodone
· Breach of prohibition order x 6
· Pointing a firearm
· Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
· Unauthorized possession of a firearm
· Knowledge of an unauthorized possession of a firearm
Shelley St. Andre:
· Public mischief
· Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
· Possession for the purpose of trafficking oxycodone
· Carrying a concealed weapon x 2
· Pointing a firearm
· Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
· Unauthorized possession of a firearm
· Knowledge of an unauthorized possession of a firearm
During the ongoing investigation, it was learned the man and woman falsely reported an incident to police involving a home invasion. It is alleged on Dec. 19, 2018, the man and woman were in possession of a shotgun and pointed it in the direction of a man outside a Notre Dame St. residence. On Dec. 21, 2018, the man and woman were taken into custody, at which time they were found to be in possession of a bb gun, a taser, as well as a quantity of cocaine and oxycodone. They both were charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. It should be noted police believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no concern for public safety.
