CORNWALL, Ontario – Alexander Samson, 22, of Cornwall was arrested Aug. 2 and charged with the following:
Firearm: unauthorized possession
Firearm: knowledge of unauthorized possession
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous person
Carry concealed weapon
Careless use of firearm
Prohibited firearm: with ammunition
Firearm: tampering with serial number
It is alleged that the man was seen at a local bar with a handgun on Aug. 1. Police were contacted to investigate.
The man was located by police on Aug. 2 and found to be in possession of a loaded handgun.
He was taken into custody on the strength of a warrant and released to appear in court on Aug. 30.
