Man breaks into a home, then calls police

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 28-year-old Brighton man was arrested on Dec. 8, 2017 and charged with break and enter, mischief, possession of break in tools and breach of recognizance for failing to remain in his residence, communicating with his ex-girlfriend and attending her residence.

He was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged in the early morning of Dec, 8, 2017 the man called police to report an emergency which prove to be unfounded and was later found to have forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s residence while she was away. He was located by police in the residence, taken into custody and found to be in possession of break in tools. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THREATS, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Dec. 7, 2017 and charged with threats, forcible confinement and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during a disagreement on Dec. 7, 2017 the youth threatened to harm someone known to him and prevented her from leaving the area. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
