Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 26 on the strength of a warrant.
He was also charged with mischief under $5000, threats and assault.
It is alleged the man sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl in August, 2018. The man further allegedly failed to attend for prints on Sept. 10, failed to attend court on Sept. 18 and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Wednesday, Dec. 26, police were called to investigate a domestic incident where the man allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, made threats to burn her residence, and damaged a door, walls, and an animal carrier.
The man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly, and was held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
