CORNWALL, Ontario – A man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a pickup truck in South Stormont.
OPP said Monday they are continuing to investigate a collision that took place at about 10:30 a.m. Monday on County Road 2 near Milles Roches Road.
Police said a Dodge pick-up truck, driven by an 81-year-old male (from South Stormont) was westbound on County Road 2 when it collided with a heavy equipment flatbed trailer which was stationary on the north shoulder of the roadway.
A 55-year-old male (from South Stormont) standing near the trailer was also struck. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police are expected to reopen a section of County Road 2 which has been closed during an investigation.
