Missing USB stick mailed back to its owner – but who is the Good Samaritan?

CORNWALL, Ontario – A Lunenburg man who had lost a USB stick at a Brookdale Avenue grocery store figured it was as good as gone.

That is, until he opened the mail Wednesday.

Jonah Gillard received a polite note, and his coveted USB stick, in the mail and couldn’t be happier.

The only problem is, the mysterious Good Samaritan did not include their name in a short letter sent along with the stick.

“My grandfather found this at Food Basics. Just hoping to return it to its owner,” was all the note said.

Gillard is understandably relieved.

I was in Food Basics last Thursday and I knew I had it in my pocket but couldn’t remember if I took it out in my house or not,” he said in an interview. “I looked high and low for it. I have very important information on it, like business ideas and my resume.

“Thank God it landed in good hands or I could’ve been in trouble, like stolen identity. I’d really like to find out who it was, most people would keep it or throw it out.”

The resume contained on the stick likely lead to uncovering Gillard’s address and its return.

Gillard has posted imagery of the USB stick and the note on Facebook, in hopes that he can track down the person who snagged it and mailed it back.
