NORTH STORMONT, Ontario – Around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, the Township of North Stormont warned residents of a precautionary boil water advisory issued for the village of Moose Creek.

“The Township of North Stormont and the Ontario Clean Water Agency wish to advise all residents in the village of Moose Creek to boil their tap water prior to use as a precautionary measure, due to a large watermain break in the drinking water system serving the area. This…is in effect from the time water service is restored, until further notice,” read a North Stormont statement.

The municipality listed the following instructions for residents: For water intended for human consumption, bring your water to a rolling boil for one minute, prior to use. If your water is discoloured, leave the tap running until the water is clear.

Residents are also advised to take caution when washing dishes, bathing or using water for cleaning.

Residents who are interested in learning more about the advisory are encouraged to call Ontario Clean Water Agency’s Chesterville office at 613-448-3098, or 1-800-342-6442 after hours.
