CORNWALL, Ontario – A Cornwall man faces a slew of charges after firing off some pepper spray at a restaurant last weekend.
Police alleged the man was involved in an argument at a Cornwall eatery when he directed the pepper spray at an employee. The cloud of noxious chemicals covered much of the interior of the restaurant, including five other customers.
Police were contacted and the man attended police heard quarters Wednesday to deal with the matter.
Mahammed Chughtai, 20 of Cornwall was charged with six counts of assault with a weapon, six counts of administering a noxious substance and possession of a prohibited weapon.
He was released to appear in court Jan. 5.
