Police find drugs, cash, medieval weapon in raid

CORNWALL, Ontario – Two Cornwallites are facing drug possession and trafficking charges after a bust on Tuesday.

Cornwall Community Police Service Const. Dan Cloutier says the force’s Street Crime Unit, assisted by the Emergency Response Team, executed a drug warrant at a Carleton Street residence and found marijuana, cocaine, oxycodone, cash, and a morning star (medieval weapon).

Sandy MacFarlane, 53, and Samantha Butcher, 40, were arrested at the scene.

The pair has been charged with possession of cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, property obtained by crime (cash), possession of oxycodone, possession for the purpose of trafficking oxycodone, possession of marijuana, and breaches.

MacFarlane was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

Both suspects were held for a bail hearing.
