CORNWALL, Ontario – Pommier Jewellers unmasked the total funds donated for the Masquerade Ball on Friday, Sept. 28.

A total of $15,000 was raised in support of St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre (SJCCC).

“We’re completely overwhelmed by the amount of support we got for the event,” said Elyssa Emond, Social Media and Marketing Coordinator with Pommier Jewellers. “It was a great turnout and it was a fantastic evening. We are hearing tons of great feedback and we definitely went over our expectations with how much money we expected to raise.”

Funds raised will help SJCCC acquire new equipment for their physical rehabilitation facility and gym. Over the past year, the Slow-Pace Rehabilitation Program has helped 308 patients. SJCCC is thankful for the strong support they received from Pommier Jewllers.

The event was held at Ramada Inn on Sept. 22. The evening was full of surprises, with numerous speeches and performances, a silent auction, a photo booth and more. The evening was made possible with the support of various community organizations including Cornwall Seaway News.

“We can’t wait to do something like this again,” said Emond.
