ONTARIO – Premier Doug Ford and Transportation Minister John Yakabuski announced that they were freezing scheduled increases for driver’s license fees.

The increases on road and knowledge tests and license renewals were scheduled for September.

“People are fed up with paying more and more every time they need to renew their licence or take a driving test,” said Doug Ford in a press release. “This will make life more affordable for drivers right across the province. This is the latest example of our government putting money back where it belongs — in the pockets of hard-working Ontarians.”

The biggest scheduled increase was for the cost of a new or renewed driver’s license, which was scheduled to go up by $7 from the current $90.
