Rainfall warning issued for Cornwall area April 6

CORNWALL, Ontario – Environment Canada has issued a Rainfall Warning for Cornwall and the surrounding area on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.

“Rain, heavy at times is expected. The ground, already near saturation, has little ability to absorb further rainfall,” reads the warning from Environment Canada. “A significant rainfall is expected beginning overnight or early Thursday morning.”

According to Environment Canada rain is expected to begin falling this evening and could continue until Friday, with amounts of rain being between 20 and 30 milimeters.

The Weather Network forecasts that rain will begin falling in Cornwall at around 2 a.m. on Thursday and will continue until Friday afternoon.

Rain is expected to continue on and off throughout the weekend with high temperatures between five and 10 degrees Celsius.
