CORNWALL, Ontario – The warm temperatures in the Cornwall area this month have resulted in red-hot attendance figures at Alight at Night.

The popular wintertime Christmas light exposition at Upper Canada Village saw 18,000 people walk through the gates in the first seven days of operation this year.

“Alight at Night’s 15th season is proving to be the most successful so far,” said St. Lawrence Parks Commission communications manager Susan Leclair. “The Upper Canada Village team is pleased to see so many families making a visit to Alight part of their holiday traditions.”

The event has received accolades from across the country from media organizations.

Alight at Night was recognized by Huffington Post Canada as one of ’12 breathtaking sights to see in a Canadian winter’, by the Globe and Mail as one of the ‘Ten reasons to stay in Canada for your winter vacation’, by Canada AM’s Travel Expert Loren Christie as one of his suggestions for ‘Getting in the Christmas spirit across the country’ and by Ottawa Life Magazine as one of Ottawa’s ‘Top 10 Activities to Get You into the Holiday Spirit’

Alight at Night is open nightly (closed Christmas Eve and Day) through to Jan. 2.
