SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – On August 21, 2017 at approximately 2:29PM members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a Six (6) vehicle crash on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township near Mile marker 828 in the westbound lanes.

Four (4) passenger vehicles and Two (2) tractor trailers collided. One person died at scene and 5 others were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Names are not being released pending notification of next-of-kin.

Highway 401 west bound is closed at the Quebec Border, detouring onto Highway 2. One east bound lane is closed.

The SD&G OPP officers and OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) and an OPP Reconstructionist are assisting in the investigation.
