SOUTH STORMONT, Ontario – On Jan. 15, 2018 at approximately 3:14 a.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a break-in at a business (MacEwens Gas Station) on Highway 138, South Stormont Township.

Investigation indicated that sometime overnight January 15, 2018 culprit(s) entered a business and removed cigarettes and lottery tickets.

On Jan. 23, 2018 members of the Community Street Crime Unit of SD&G OPP arrested an adult male in connection with the break-in.

Joseph O’TOOLE (44) of Verdon, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Break and Enter

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime ( 3 counts)

– Trafficking in stolen goods under $5000

An investigation continues.

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

NORTH DUNDAS, Ontario – On January 23, 2018 at approximately 10:32am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence in North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation had taken place between a male and his wife. The Investigation revealed that the male and female assaulted each other.

A 34-year-old male from North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

– Fail to comply with conditions of a probation order

A 34- year -old female from North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

– Assault

The male was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

The female was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 6, 2018. Both names are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victims.

 DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

NORTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – On January 24, 2018 at approximately 6:34m, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence in North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation had taken place between a female and her boyfriend. The Investigation revealed that the female had assaulted the male.

A 25-year-old female from North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

The female was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 20, 2018

His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – On January 23, 2018, a Highway Safety Division Ontario Provincial Police officer conducted speed measuring enforcement on Highway 401, South Glengarry Townships and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– January 23, 2018 – 2:24pm (South Glengarry); vehicle stopped travelling 156km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (24) from Pierrefonds, Quebec was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
