North Glengarry man charged in sexual assault case

NORTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – As a result of a sexual assault investigation conducted by members of the Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police, a 48 year-old male resident of North Glengarry was arrested on May 18, 2018.

The 48-yr old male resident of North Glengarry faces charges of:

– Sexual Assault  (2 counts)

The above charges are in relation to incidents involving a teenaged girl.

The name of the accused is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall court on July 4, 2018.

THREATS

SOUTH DUNDAS, Ontario – On May 18, 2018 at approximately 10:57 a.m. Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of threats in South Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that a male youth had uttered threats. 

A 15-year-old male of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Uttering Threats

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall court on June 28, 2018.

The name of the accused is being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

STOLEN BOAT

SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – On May 18, 2018 at approximately 5:09 p.m., Stormont Dundas &Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a Boat being taken from a property on Purcell Rd., South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that sometime in the previous weeks a 1978 Glastron Runabout fiberglass boat with blue seats Whaler was stolen. The boat was on a 2016 Home grey trailer with Ontario plate # N7881P.

STUNT DRIVERS

SD&G, Ontario – On May 18, 2018 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– May 18, 2018 – 7:30 a.m. (South Glengarry); vehicle stopped travelling 147km/h (80km/h zone)(Highway 401)(Construction zone). Female driver (44) from Montreal, Quebec was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– May 18, 2018 – 2:07 p.m. (South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 158km/h (100km/h zone)(Highway 401). Female driver (32) from Ajax, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

IMPAIRED DRIVER

NORTH DUNDAS, Ontario – On May 19, 2018 at approximately 11:23 p.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a single vehicle collision on County Road 3 in North Dundas, Ontario. The investigation revealed that the adult female driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Taunya van Allen, 47, of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Care or control of a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Care or control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on June 5, 2018.              

DRIVER OF A STOLEN VEHICLE ARRESTED

SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – On May 20, 2018 at approximately 10:38 p.m. Stormont Dundas & Glengarry officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Glengarry, Ontario. The investigation revealed that a male was driving a Toyota Corolla which had been stolen from Toronto, Ontario. Investigation further revealed that the adult male was in possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).

Mohamed Aroud, 18, of Chambly, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

– Possession of a controlled substance

– Drive motor Vehicle -no licence (Highway Traffic Act)

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

SOUTH DUNDAS, Ontario – On May 20, 2018 at approximately 1:31 p.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 401 in South Dundas, Ontario. The investigation revealed that the adult female driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Karen Whiteaway, 49, of Saint-Julie, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Care or control of a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Care or control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on June 5, 2018.

ASSAULT- DOMESTIC

NORTH DUNDAS, Ontario – On May 20, 2018 at approximately 10:04 p.m. Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in North Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that an adult male had assaulted his wife. 

A 39-year-old male of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault ( 2 counts)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall court on June 19, 2018.
