Thunderstorms in the forecast for Cornwall.

CORNWALL, Ontario – Environment Canada has issued a Thunderstorm Watch for Cornwall and the surrounding Counties.

The watch was issued at around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 23.

“Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and torrential rain,” the statement on Environment Canada’s website reads. “Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.”

According to The Weather Network there is no chance of a thunderstorm until around 6 p.m. or 8 p.m.

Cornwall and the surrounding area will likely be facing thunderstorms for the remaining of the week until Friday.
