AKWESASNE – The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service (AMPS) and the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) have confirmed that through their joint investigation, they have found the remains of Kenneth Leaf.

Leaf, 50, was first declared missing in January 2018.

On Thursday, July 26, 2018, AMPS confirmed that they had discovered human remains on St. Regis Island and were working with the SQ on the case which they are treating as a homicide investigation.

“The investigation has revealed that the victim is Kenneth Francis Leaf, 50 years old, from Akwesasne, who had been missing since January 2018. Investigators from the different police services are working together in order to identify the perpetrator(s) of this vile crime,” AMPS stated in a press release to the media.
