Hwy 401 accident sends three to hospital

SOUTH STORMONT, Ontario – On July 2, 2018 Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to the scene of a single vehicle collision on Highway 401, South Stormont Township.

Investigation has indicated that at approximately 12:42pm, a passenger vehicle with three occupants was travelling westbound on Highway 401 at mile marker 772 South Stormont Township, when for reasons still under investigation entered into the ditch and rolled over.

All three occupants were transported to the hospital, one (adult male) of which is in critical condition while the driver (adult male) and the other passenger (adult female) suffered non-life threatening injuries.

A section of Highway 401(Between MM778 and MM770) and was closed to traffic, but has since been re-opened. 

SD&G OPP, assisted by OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to investigate.
