Drunk driver stopped going 70km over the speed limit

SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – On Sept. 13, 2018 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven days in accordance to policy and was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 At 6:32 p.m. in South Glengarry the vehicle was stopped traveling 170km/h in a100km/h zone on Highway 401. The Male driver, 24, is from Hogansburg, New York. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

The male was charged with:

–             Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act)

–             Novice driver – BAC above zero

–             Warn range – three day suspension

–             G1 Licence Holder – Drive on Prohibited Highway

–             G1 Licence Holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver

–             Drive Motor vehicle – no licence
