‘Run to endMS’ in Cornwall raises over $37K
Hundreds of runners put their best foot forward at Cornwall's 15th annual Run to endMS fundraising event on Saturday

CORNWALL, Ont. – For Cornwall native Scott Galt, the 15th annual fundraiser brought him one step closer to the Boston Marathon – and the MS Society to finding a cure.

Starting at St. Lawrence College on Saturday (April 30), over 400 people laced up for ‘Run to endMS’ – a five-km, 10-km, and half marathon race – to help raise over $37,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Cornwall & District chapter.

For this first time, the event also included a full marathon (42.2 kilometres) that is officially certified as a Boston Marathon qualifier. The full marathon kicked off at Chrysler Park near Morrisburg, concluding at the college.

“This is one of our biggest turnouts yet, it’s really exciting,” said Karen Torrie-Racine, volunteer office manager of the local MS Society.

Proceeds will help the local MS Society provide homecare services, mobility aids, and cover air conditioning costs for its clients.

Over $300,000 has been raised for the volunteer non-profit chapter since the race began.
