SD&G OPP blotter update.

MAXVILLE, Ontario – A Moose Creek man is fighting for his life after a hit-and-run collision on County Road 22 on Christmas Eve.

SD&G OPP responded to a report of an injured man on the side of road (also known as Dyer Road), east of Highway 138, in North Stormont around 4 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24.

He was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

OPP Const. Joel Doiron told Seaway News on Tuesday (Dec. 29), “the man is still in the hospital, and in bad shape.”

“We are focusing on the fact he would’ve been hit by a vehicle – and are retracing his path, which will hopefully lead us to what caused the injuries he sustained,” said Doiron.

According to CBC News Ottawa, the man has been indentified as 34-year-old Christopher Coleman.

“We are currently focused on Chris’s recovery,” his family said in a written statement to media. The family also stated they’re hopeful someone will come forward and “provide closure.”
