CORNWALL, Ontario – Ontario Provincial Police have laid sexual assault charges against two men after separate attacks in South Glengarry.
SD&G OPP officers, assisted by the force’s crime unit, charged a 32-year-old North Grenville man on Monday (August 3), for incidents involving a young girl earlier that day.
SD&G OPP Const. Tyler Copeland said the accused and victim did not know each other.
The man has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age, abduction of person under 14 – take or entice.
The accused was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court. No names were released to protect the victim’s identity.
Provincial police also charged a 77-year-old South Glengarry man on Thursday (August 6) with sexual assault.
Copeland said the ‘domestic-related’ incident occurred on July 31.
The man was released and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on September 2. No names were released to protect the victim’s identity.
