CORNWALL, Ontario – If you’re heading out, bring an umbrella.
A severe thunderstorm watch was issued Sunday night for Cornwall, Lancaster, Maxville, Alexandria, Morrisburg, Long Sault, Winchester, and Newington.
Environment Canada warns that a line of thunderstorms will move over the region over next few hours.
The weather agency cautioned local residents to be alert for strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
“Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year,” Environment Canada said. “Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!”
