CORNWALL, Ontario – Environment Canada is predicting snow and possibly freezing rain to fall on Cornwall and the surrounding area Wednesday Feb. 26 and for the following day.
“Snow is expected to begin this morning and become heavy this afternoon or evening. Snow may briefly change to freezing rain this evening. Heavy snow will continue tonight into Thursday morning before tapering to flurries Thursday afternoon,” reads a Weather Warning from Environment Canada. “Snowfall accumulations of 15 to 25 cm are expected by Thursday afternoon.”
According to The Weather Network snow is expected to begin to fall in Cornwall at around 3 p.m. in the afternoon on Wednesday and will turn into mixed precipitation with rain early Thursday morning, before turning back into snow by Thursday afternoon. Snow will continue to fall until early Friday.
Temperatures throughout Wednesday and Thursday will be around zero degrees Celsius before falling to around minus 10 on Friday.
