UNITED COUNTIES of SD&G, Ontario – Environment Canada is warning that  snow squalls may form in the United Counties area this afternoon, Thursday, Feb. 1.

“Within the snow squall, visibility may be suddenly reduced in a burst of heavy snow and blowing snow. However, accumulations are expected to be limited to a few centimetres at most as the snow squall will pass through quickly,” the Environment Canada Weather Watch reads.

“Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather,” the statement continues. “Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.”
